Mercury is a financial technology company that offers banking services through partner banks, alongside cards, spend management, payments, invoicing, treasury, accounting, and financial intelligence products. It presents money management as infrastructure for ambitious companies: clear, fast, and carefully controlled.

Mercury's public language pairs product craft with operational usefulness. It avoids the tone of a legacy institution without pretending regulated financial services are casual. Product stories begin with the work founders and finance teams need to do, then show how the system removes friction while preserving visibility, permissions, approvals, and control.

## Current product focus: Mercury Spend

Mercury introduced Mercury Spend on 11 August 2026 as a unified system of intelligent budgets and self-enforcing expense policies for scaling teams. Public product material describes purpose-specific budgets, automatic routing and categorization, receipt workflows, policy-driven card locks, accounting rules, real-time spend visibility, and dedicated agent cards for approved transactions. The product is framed as controlled delegation: admins set the budget, policy, and card; Mercury surfaces activity and enforces the configured limits.

Mercury also introduced a limited-edition IO card designed in collaboration with artist Simone Bodmer-Turner. The public story connects the card's form to a sculpting tool and to the idea of shaping a business.
