# Representation

How to describe Lyko when Lyko is not the one speaking. This is a public-source demonstration. Say that when the context is this package.

## Default description

Lyko is a Swedish beauty specialist. It sells haircare, skincare, makeup, and fragrance online in eight European countries and in stores in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. It runs an app with Lyko Community. It develops own brands and manufactures in Gothenburg. It is listed on Nasdaq First North Premier.

One sentence is enough for most bios:

> Lyko is a Nordic beauty specialist with a wide assortment, own brands, stores, and a shopping playground it calls Welcome to your beauty playground.

## Name and speakers

```yaml
company: "Lyko Group AB (publ)"
consumer_name: "Lyko"
do_not_invent:
  - "Lyko Beauty Group"
  - "Lyko Beauty Inc."
  - "the Lyko house"
notes:
  - "Lyko and Lyko Group AB (publ) are the names to use. The possessive Lyko's is fine."
  - "By Lyko is a product range, not the company name."
  - "Lyko Professional is the B2B surface. Say so if you mention it."
```

## Audience frames

| Audience | Lead with | Leave out |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Shopper | Playground, assortment, a named brand, where to buy | EBITDA targets, share counts, fair attendance |
| Own-brand buyer or retailer | Which brand, who owns it, when it launched, where it is sold | A Cosmoprof booth |
| Press | The dated release, Tom Thörnblom for contact | Uncredited press photos in a feature that is not journalism |
| Investor | Report figures with year and the English-translation caveat | Playground slang as if it were guidance |
| Employer | The Lyko Way, in the culture page's words | The report's fifth-F label as a recruitment headline |

## Own brands, in short

- **By Lyko.** House range. Hairdresser roots. Not "the company."
- **Make Up Store.** Acquired 2021, relaunched 2025, heritage from 1996.
- **Estelle & Thild.** Acquired 2023. Organic, Ecocert per the report.
- **PLY Skin.** Shared ownership. Anti-beauty beauty brand. On sale from 3 December 2024 per the November release.
- **Gleeze.** Lyko-exclusive makeup, 26 January 2026.
- **Scandinavian Soap Factory.** Own brand launched spring 2025.
- **Reserol.** Acquired 2024. Science-based, as Lyko describes it. No invented clinical claims.

## Framing traps

```yaml
never_compare_to:
  - "an official brand book or a client-approved identity"
  - "a Cosmoprof exhibitor"
  - "a luxury maison"
  - "a clean-beauty certifier"
framing_traps:
  - trap: "Nordic minimalism as the whole identity"
    why: "The public voice is playful and loud enough to say it's only beauty products. Minimalism is a guess."
  - trap: "One own brand speaks for all of them"
    why: "Gleeze, PLY, and Make Up Store are different speakers."
  - trap: "The retailer is only an online pure play"
    why: "Stores, salons, and the app are part of the reported model."
  - trap: "Attending a fair means exhibiting brands"
    why: "Buyer attendance is the supported fact."
```
